  • Easy to Grow and Care For
  • Excellent Heat Tolerance
Purple Pechay has excellent heat resistance and adapts well to hot and humid climates. Even in extreme heat, it remains healthy and lush without wilting. This makes it ideal for year-round cultivation, regardless of the weather.
  • Harvesting tips
  • Nutrient-Rich & Health Benefits
This vegetable is packed with essential nutrients, including vitamins A, C, and K, as well as calcium and iron. Regular consumption helps boost immunity, support digestion, and promote bone health. The deep purple leaves contain anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants that protect cells and reduce inflammation.
  • Quick Harvest and High Yield
Purple Pechay has a short growing period—ready for harvest in just 25-30 days. It grows fast, is resistant to pests, and produces a high yield, making it a great choice for home gardeners and commercial growers alike.
  • Harvest at the right time: Purple Pechay is ready for harvest 25-30 days after sowing. The ideal time is when the leaves reach 15-20 cm for the best flavor and texture.
  • Pick individual leaves or harvest the whole plant: You can pick outer leaves first, allowing the plant to continue growing, or harvest the entire plant for a fresh new batch.
  • Use a sharp knife or scissors: Cut close to the base without damaging the plant. If picking individual leaves, leave the center intact for continuous growth.
  • Store properly: After harvesting, rinse and drain well. Store in an airtight bag in the refrigerator’s crisper drawer to maintain freshness.

STEP 2: Care for the Plants

🌿 When the mustard plant has 5-6 leaves, space the plants about 10-20 cm apart to promote healthy growth.
🌱 Add more rice husk ash or earthworms to enrich the soil, and apply a small amount of urea diluted with water.
💧 Water in the cool afternoon to stimulate growth during this stage and ensure the plants thrive.

STEP 1: Sow seeds

💧 Soak the seeds in clean water for 4 to 6 hours, then incubate them for 10 to 12 hours until they germinate. Afterward, sow them in the soil.
🌱 After about 1-2 weeks, the seedlings will develop 2-3 leaves.
🌿 At this stage, add organic fertilizer or green manure to promote healthy vegetable growth.

STEP 3: Harvesting

🌱 After 20-30 days, when the plants reach a height of about 25-30 cm and the leaves have thickened, they are ready for harvest.
✂️ Use a knife or scissors to cut close to the base, or uproot the entire plant depending on your needs. To allow the plant to regrow, leave about 2-3 cm of the base intact.
